Exeter City loanee Viljami Sinisalo has emerged on the radar of Celtic, as per a report by the Scottish Sun.

Exeter City landed the goalkeeper on loan from Aston Villa last summer and he has since caught the eye for the League One side.

Sinisalo, 22, has made the number one spot his own for the Grecians under Gary Caldwell.

According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic are admirers of him ahead of the next transfer window along with some unnamed Championship clubs.

Celtic could see Sinisalo as a long-term replacement for Joe Hart between the sticks with the veteran set to leave when his deal expires.

Aston Villa have a big decision to make regarding the stopper’s future at Villa Park when he officially returns from Exeter City.

His switch to St James Park has worked wonders for him in this campaign and he has enjoyed plenty of game time in Devon.

He has made 50 appearances for Caldwell’s side, 45 of which have come in the league, to boost his development.

Sinisalo, who is a Finland international with two caps under his belt to date, joined Aston Villa back in 2018 from Espoo.

He was loaned out for the first time to Ayr United in Scotland during the 2020/21 campaign and played 22 matches for the Scottish Championship outfit.

The ‘keeper then linked up with Burton Albion last term and played eight times for the Brewers before his switch to Exeter City.

He hasn’t looked back since his move to the Grecians and his performances over recent times have alerted the attention of Celtic.

Caldwell will need to find a replacement for him over the next few months, assuming they can’t lure him back down to the third tier.
